About BNK
A Home for Japanese Language in South India
Established in 2006, BNK is South India's foremost Japanese language association — uniting teachers, students, and enthusiasts under a shared love of the Japanese language and culture.
BNK was established as a common platform for learners and teachers of the Japanese language. With the growing popularity of Japanese culture through manga, anime, and a shared fascination with all things Japanese, there was a pressing need to bring institutes and individuals under one roof.
Today, BNK is Bangalore's most prominent Japanese language association — facilitating teacher networking, conducting official JLPT examinations at our Koramangala centre, and nurturing a vibrant community passionate about Japan and its language.
BNK is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit association, steered by a dedicated core committee of Japanese language educators based in Bangalore.

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT / 日本語能力試験) is the world's largest Japanese language certification. BNK is the official Bangalore examination centre, conducting JLPT twice every year.

Important Notes
Accounts created on jlpt.bnkindia.in in previous sessions remain valid — you do not need to re-register. Applications may short-close for any level once the quota for that level is reached. Apply early to be sure of a spot.
The JLPT is jointly administered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services. It is recognised globally by universities, employers, and immigration authorities as proof of Japanese language proficiency. Bangalore's exam is conducted at venues in and around Koramangala. Venue details are shared on the BNK portal closer to the exam date.

BNK is the official Bangalore centre for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, held twice yearly. We administer all five levels (N1–N5) and support thousands of exam-takers across South India.
